Develop the skills you need to manage the day-to-day operations of the System i server. Learn how the System i server works from an end user point of view, at both a basic and intermediate level, so you can assist your users and manage system operations. Practice the skills you learn in hands-on lab exercises. Materials used in this course are based on i5/OS and OS/400 V5R4MO. This course applies to System i, however the majority of the material is also appropriate for i5, iSeries, AS/400 and AS/400e systems.

You should be able to sign on to a workstation, send and respond to messages, and use system-supplied menus.

Describe Program Temporary Fixes (PTF) management
Create and maintain user profiles, group profiles, and authorization lists
Describe system security
Describe how Management Central is used to manage multiple System i servers
