The Sun StorageTek 5000 NAS Administration course provides students with a foundation of knowledge and skills to work with network attached storage (NAS) systems, including being able to properly cable, configure, and troubleshoot basic problems.
Who Can Benefit
Students who can benefit from this course are those who will need to support the Sun StorEdge 5x10 NAS appliance and the Sun StorageTek 5x20, including the supporting hardware, software, and customized operating system. Students who will perform administrative tasks using the NAS appliance, configure the NAS appliance to support file access, and troubleshoot issues that may arise with the server will also benefit from this course.
Prerequisites
To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to:
Configure Solaris OS servers to share file systems
Perform network administrative tasks to allow individuals access to a Solaris server
Understand the Windows environment and how to maneuver in the environment
Perform advanced system administration on Solaris servers
Be aware of event logging
Set up shares in a Windows environment
